The shape of this vessel is inspired by the ‘beehive’ shaped underground chamber at the ancient settlement of Carn Euny in West Penwith, Cornwall. Capturing elegance in every detail, the silver Lidded Enamel Lichen Pot makes a gift or cherished home for your treasures.
This collection is inspired by Lichen, Flavoparmelia caperata or Common Green Shield, that can be found growing in abundance on the ancient standing stones and sacred sites of Cornwall and Europe.
The lichen has become a metaphor about how we could be living more sustainably within the landscape. Lichen is symbiotic and this symbolises the relationship our ancestors, who built the standing stones, had with the land. They were once living in harmony with the land, in a symbiotic and reciprocal relationship.
