‘Ivy Tendril’ Belt Buckle continues the themes of the ‘Resurgence’ Teapot. This design is inspired by plant life, and the incredible power of nature to prevail and regenerate, to regrow, sometimes bursting through concrete and reclaiming the land. The handle is the dominant feature of this piece, particularly honouring the manner in which plants curl around themselves and grow together as a self supporting twisting structures. Examples of this can be seen in ivy vines, wisteria trees and wild honeysuckle winding around hazel. These themes can also be seen in many art nouveau designs that also influenced this piece of contemporary silver.
