Newsletter: Imbolc Edition 2025
Dear Friends,
Imbolc Blessings! Celebrated around 1st February, marks the stirring of spring and the feast day of Brigid, Goddess and Saint. Rooted in ancient Gaelic traditions, she honours renewal, fertility, protection and is patroness of Smithcraft so I particularly love this time of year. The sap is beginning to turn and with it creativity starts to flow. I am always filled with ideas and inspiration around this time. February’s daylight remains soft and muted, but it lingers a little longer each day and a glimmer of the coming spring grows ever closer. It’s always such a joy to see the delicate heads of the snowdrops emerging from the earth, one of the first signs of spring returning along with the buds appearing on the trees. The bare branches have made it easier to spot the tiny, elusive Goldcrest and Firecrest at their work, Britain's smallest bird and one I have felt a particular affinity with this winter.
